HondroPlus is a combination topical gel that works on a “three-in-one” principle: it relieves acute pain, reduces swelling, and supports joint structure.

How the formula works specifically for joints:

1. Direct support for cartilage (chondroprotectors)

• The formula contains two key building blocks for joints:
• Chondroitin sulfate: helps retain water in the cartilage, making it more elastic and resilient to stress (shock absorption).
• Glucosamine sulfate: stimulates the production of synovial fluid, which “lubricates” the joint, reducing friction and creaking.

2. Pain Relief and “Warming Up” (Distracting Effect)

• Menthol and Camphor: create a “cooling” effect that quickly diverts the attention of pain receptors. This helps with sharp pains, shooting pains, or when a joint “aches” due to changes in the weather.
• Essential oils (Ginger, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus): stimulate blood flow to the joint. Improved circulation helps flush inflammatory byproducts out of the joint capsule more quickly.

3. Medicinal Herbs for Regeneration

• Comfrey (Symphytum): Contains allantoin, which accelerates the regeneration of bone and cartilage tissue. It is considered one of the best herbs for osteoarthritis and injuries.
• Arnica: Quickly reduces bruising and internal swelling around the joint, alleviating stiffness.
• Horse chestnut: reduces capillary permeability, which is important if a joint is swollen (a sign of synovitis).

How to get the most benefit for your joints:

• Course of treatment: Chondroitin and glucosamine don’t work after a single use. For them to begin supporting the cartilage, you need to apply the gel to the joint regularly—2–3 times a day for a month.
• Warming effect: After applying the gel (as soon as it’s absorbed), it’s helpful to keep the joint warm (by wearing a knee brace or a wool scarf). This will enhance the penetration of the essential oils.
• Application Areas: For knee pain, apply the gel not only to the kneecap but also to the popliteal fossa. For back pain, apply it along the spine.
